The title and the description of the items you are selling are some of the most important features when selling things on eBay. This is why you should use simple, yet catchy words and avoid redundancies or out dated set phrases such as “this is the best thing you have ever seen”. In addition of being untrue, these set phrases show lack of imagination and professionalism. Instead, make a full description of the product and present your potential buyer the reasons for which he should buy that product from you. Try to be persuasive, but do not exaggerate!

Pictures are another ingredient which can affect the way your listing looks like. If they are clear and show exactly the item you want to sell, with its good and bad features, you will have great chances to attract customers. Yet, if the pictures are unclear, they will only keep clients away, as they will not be able to see how the item really looks like and nobody trusts blurry images. Also, stay away from idealized pictures or cartoons taken from the internet. They have the same effect as the blurry images, that of keeping customers away.

You can also add some personality to your listing, by creating a special graphic, changing colors and writing styles. However, make sure that the content is still legible and that you are not being too aggressive. Keep in mind that you are trying to sell a product, not to show your artistic talent. Also, keep the colors and the style in accordance with the objects you sell. This will give a big plus to your listing.
