What free DVD/CD software is available online?

I have recently purchased an Acer One D250 netbook and have purchased a Pioneer DVR-X162 external DVD/CD drive. It has come with Cyberlink PowerDVD 7 (Trial) and there is no sound when i view a DVD. Any help as to other FREE online software to play DVD’s would be much appreciated.
Running Windows 7 Starter/ 32 bit/ 1 gb Ram.

Try Media Player Classic, supports DVD playing as well.

You get it when you install k-lite codec pack.
